Poses In El Paso While Running From Record At Home

Danbury— The campaign of State Senator David Cappiello, candidate for Congress in Connecticut’s Fifth District, today issued the following statement on Congressman Chris Murphy’s continued double-talk on immigration reform andborder security.

“Chris Murphy has now taken his ‘Double-Talk Express’ on the road to El Paso to hold a press conference in an attempt to run away from his poor record on immigration reform and border security.  Not only has Murphy voted THREE times against preventing illegal aliens from obtaining drivers licenses in Connecticut, he has voted to weaken the Secure Fence Act, against funding forborder security, and to cut funding for employee immigration checks atsensitive US sites.  Murphy’srecord is hardly the reform America wants to see in our immigration system, and proves that his rhetoric is just more double-talk from a Washington politician.”
