Rep. Chris Murphy, D-5th District, looked each of us in the eye two years ago and promised he would go to Washington and change Congress for the better.  he was certainly correct in his feelings that there need to be changes in Washington, D.C., but in his tme there he certainly hasn't provided it

He told us special interests and lobbyists are too influential in Washington and promised he would fight against their influence

In his first term, these same special interests have filled his campaign coffers with money by the truckload, clearly indicating he is not above being influenced.

He told us pork-barrel spending was out of control under the Republicans in Congress and promised to get spending under control, but he refused to lead by example and swear off wasting our money with earmarks.

He promised to look out for the middle class, then voted to raised middle class taxes.

He talked about lowering gasoline prices, but we're paying more than ever at the pump.

He told us ethics reform was priority number one, but missed his first opportunity to vote on these reforms.

Rep. Murphy has been in office for more than a year now, quickly becoming part of the problem in Washington rather than the solutions.  Where exactly are these changes he promised us?
