LETTER: Murphy pushes failed policy

Congressman Christopher Murphy recently sent a taxpayer-funded mailer to constituents telling us that if we want to see lowergas prices, we must stop going around in circles. Murphy should listen to his own advice.

Murphy espouses exactly the same failed views on energy policy that have held our nation hostage to foreign oil for decades. Despite the fact that we are sitting on 112 billion barrels of oil in this country, Murphy opposes exploring America's own vast energy reserves and taking steps toincrease production.

Murphy has marched lockstep with the special-interest liberals who for more than 30 years have punished American consumers by blocking expanded energy production here at home.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and each time expecting a different result. We've been trying it Murphy's way for more than 30 years and now we are paying more than $4 a gallon for gasoline. It's time to drill here, drill now and lower prices.

If Chris Murphy can't see this, then he has to go.
